Freedom from Alopecia Areata Money Bomb 2012
It’s been just about one year since GAM presented the alopecia areata community with a revolutionary new message about research, one that has lit a fire that has spread across the world. In the spirit of celebration of its first year, and a general sense of liberty, GAM has announced the Freedom from Alopecia Money Bomb for July 2012.
“It’s an idea whose time has come, ” said Rob Swierski, Exec. Dir. of GAM. “Only through research can we free ourselves from this disease.”
In the spirit of the season, GAM’s founders and volunteers have drafted an Alopecian Declaration of Independence, airing their grievances and announcing their intentions to the world. Donors to the Freedom from Alopecia Money Bomb will be allowed to add their signature to the Declaration.
“It may just be me, but I am tickled pink that Freedom from Alopecia Areata will kick off on Canada Day,” said Jana Buhlmann GAM’s Canadian Executive Director. “I am proud to want a cure, and look forward to spreading Freedom from Alopecia Areata around the world.”
The Freedom from Alopecia Money Bomb will run throughout the month of July with proceeds benefiting GAM’s Research Roundtable. GAM Chapters in 14 countries throughout the world will be participating, each with their own tales of freedom from alopecia areata.
“I was drawn to GAM because I wanted a cure for alopecia areata,” said Lana Becker, Asst. Exec. Dir. of GAM. “To do that we need research. And to fund research we need your help.“
“The Research Roundtable, our Constitutional Convention of Research, is a big step in setting a new path for alopecia areata research. We invite alopecians around the world to join us by making a donation to the 2012 Freedom from Alopecia Money Bomb.”
The Dates: July 1st, 2012 – July 31st 2012
The Goal: $75,000, to finalize efforts for the GAM Research Roundtable
Why should You Donate?: The research roundtable will be a historic event for alopecia areata research. Never before have experts from all fields and disciplines gathered together, supported by dozens of research institutions and universities, to map out a cohesive plan for the future of alopecia areata.
The Declaration: GAM will release the Alopecian Declaration of Independence on July 1st, 2012. Drafted by GAM team members and volunteers, it conveys the spirit of the season and is crafted in period language.
GAM invites everyone to make this July the one in which they declared Freedom from Alopecia Areata.
